It’s time to start your Baby Registry… WHAT?!
20 weeks into my pregnancy and I’ve got my Baby Shower on the brain.. Well not necessarily the party itself but more like, what on earth am I going to register for?! I’m a first time mom, how should I know about the best bassinets and gliders? I have ZERO CLUE what to get when it comes to baby stuff! Insert panic here. Now thankfully there is this website I frequent, www.google.com, where you can look up ratings until you’re blue in the face, Ha… but seriously!
Now I’m definitely not claiming to be any sort of expert when it comes time to registering however after spending many hours researching everything BABY and talking with many friends that have experience in this, I’ve come up with a list of My MUST HAVES and Ideas to hopefully help make your experience a tad easier.
BASSINETSOURCE: buybuy Baby
HALO® Bassinest™ $249
Trust me when I say, EVERYONE has told me a Bassinet is a necessity. I chose this one because it is flexible and it rotates making it easily adjustable to my bedside.
BABY MONITORSOURCE: amazon.com
Infant Optics DXR-8 Video Baby Monitor with Interchangeable Optical Lens $165.99
A baby monitor is basically a given but trying to figure out which one to get was where it became tricky. I preferred to get one without WIFI capabilities and based off the reviews, this one looked like a great monitor!
TUBSOURCE: buybuy Baby
Boon SOAK Newborn to Toddler Bath Tub $29.99
This was another item where I felt completely clueless about. There are a million baby baths to chose from but it really comes down to 2 things: 1. Space. Are you bathing him/her in the sink or the tub? and most importantly 2. What the baby prefers. I’ve heard from other parents that babies typically like to be soaking in the water which is why I chose this one.
INFANT SEATSOURCE: buybuy Baby
4moms® mamaRoo® 4 Plush Infant Seat $249.99
“Lifesaver” was the common word associated with these infant seats. This one in particular is known to sway the exact same way you do while comforting your baby.
CAR SEAT/STROLLER SOURCE: buybuy Baby
Chicco® Bravo® LE Trio Travel System in Genesis $429.99
I relate car seat and stroller shopping to car shopping. Unless you have a good idea of what you’re looking for, it can take you weeks to figure out what to get. Again, I had no clue about any of this but was given really good advice from the employees at buybuy Baby. They advise customers to figure out what kind of stroller they wanted first and then move to the car seat. (Apparently that narrows down your selection) Well given that I didn’t really know what I wanted in a stroller other than I wanted it to be safe, I let them fully guide me. I chose this one because it had amazing safety ratings and was very easy to maneuver.
OTHER BABY REGISTRY MUST HAVES:
OPTIONAL REGISTRY ITEMS
Now you’ll notice I didn’t include Toys and Clothes in my must haves. That’s because it’s a given you will receive both whether you registered for it or not! Plus, I think it’s fun to go out and buy that kind of stuff yourself.
On that note, anyone want to see some of the cute outfits I’ve bought already? 🙂
Also, undoubtably there are items that are probably missing from my list.. Forgive me. I’m writing this post when I’ve got the full effect of Pregnancy Brain. 🙂
I want to hear what were/are some of your MUST HAVES!
Also, I’d love to know the items that you wouldn’t ever register for again!
Let me know down below!
